we sing about spiders

We are learning through song and play! Play based learning engages the children and captures their imaginations. This is a surefire way to peak curiosity and ensure their thirst for knowledge.
Here is the song we sang all week as we worked on shape and color recognition. It is sung to the tune of If You're Happy and You Know It.  At morning group time, we set out shapes in the center of our circle and asked the children if they could identify the shape. We then sang our song and encouraged the children to place their spiders on the square, triangle or circle. They enjoyed playing with their creep-crawlies, singing along and yelling out the colors and shapes.
We may still need a little practice so we'll keep singing our song!
