This week was all about celebrating the Earth. We challenged our fine motor skills by designing Earth Day bracelets out of blue and green beads. We also explored a new art technique to create our very own paintings of the Earth. The process started with each child squirting some blue paint (representing the oceans) and green paint (representing the land) onto white paper. Then each child was given a paper plate to squish down onto the paint. Lastly, they would use their hand to do a twist motion on their plates. The children were delighted when they lifted their plates to reveal a remarkable replication of the Earth left on their papers, as well as the plates.
