These are a few of our favorite things!

Because the school year is winding down, the students and I discussed some of our favorite moments....activities, books, songs, toys, etc.  Their recall is remarkable, as are the moments that were meaningful to them.  Tops on the list is outside play, driving the Cozy Coupe Cars, riding bikes and delving into the sensory tray.
The children also loved playing with play dough, squeezing the dough through our orange and lemon juicers.  Play dough is a staple in the classroom, a medium that is open ended and supports many areas of learning.
After being absent for about a month, I brought the easels back into the classroom.  The children were more thoughtful and controlled as they composed their pictures.  Many of them wanted to dictate the 'story' of their painting and I was delighted to take the part of scribe, writing their story for posterity.
I'm saving one of our favorite cooking activities for the last week of school.  During the Winter, I read Chilly, Milly Moo by Fiona Ross and paired that with ice cream making.  Now we just have to decide what flavor to choose!
