The children immersed themselves in the Farmer's Market play area in the classroom. They were busy taking orders, changing prices, making change, and selling lots of produce. Telephone orders made up a large percentage of their sales. When I asked how much an item cost, they proudly recited the biggest numbers they knew...fifty eighty sixty ten!
Sensory play, from head to toe
Cloud dough is a favorite sensory material. Made with flour and a little vegetable oil, it's fluffy, packs well, and was super popular in our classroom last week. Children spooned the dough into cups making birthday cakes, formed mountains and castles. and used language to discuss and compare their creations.
