Team work has been a really big topic in our toddler class the last couple weeks! We have been learning to "encourage" our friends to follow directions and use their listening ears. Everyone in the toddler room has done such a great job working as a team and learning what it means to be accountable for their own actions.Marble Works was a great activity that sparked conversations about how to build, what to build, how high and who would take turns building what piece.
The toddler class helped create a "snowy" sensory activity out of rice, food coloring, pine cones and pom pom balls. Everyone had a task to complete and a step to follow in order to create the bin!
We also did a lot of smelling and learning about different scents. Cinnamon, peppermint and pine were some of the favorite flavors.
Check out our peppermint playdough! What a great way to exercise fine motor skills! We used tools such as cookie cutters, plastic knifes, popsicle sticks and even scissors.
We even tried making our own snow! We mixed shaving cream and glue into a large bowl and presto change-o! It came out to be a rubbery, puffy substance when dry. The kids loved watching the transformation from wet and gooey to soft and fluffy.
