It's Raining Colors!

Returning to school after an extended break, I knew that the activities that I offered to the children would need to be really compelling.  We made cloud jars...a wonderful shaving cream and rainbow color experience.  The children dropped colored water (using eye droppers), on to their shaving cream clouds that floated on water.  When the clouds were saturated, the colors emerged from the clouds creating beautiful designs in the water.   Some students selected only one color to drop on their clouds, but others chose every color available, resulting in a 'night time storm'.

If you've been hearing about roy g biv, we've been discussing weather and rainbows.  The children were intrigued with the color indigo.  Our rainbow sculptures were a creative paper and glue activity. Such a delight!
