Butterflies, Symmetry and Outside Fun!

We worked on stage three this week in our butterfly life cycle. We used the words cocoon, and metamorphosis! Yes, metamorphosis! :)

We started to connect symmetry to butterflies (our last stage.) Here we are doing an activity with mirrors where we described what we saw and where (top, bottom, middle, side) of our face. Then we painted a line down the middle and talked about symmetry by defining it as (same color, same shape, and same size on both sides.) We practiced on our faces and on paper.

Outside time

Check out our really cool leaf imprints and rubbings! We took fresh flowers and leaves and used hammers to create a rubbing on paper. It was a super cool activity, and it smelled really fresh outside!

Thank you friends in Mrs Lindsay's class for sharing Softy and Brownie with us!

Bike time

We did a lot of racing and obstacle courses this week. We had a lot of fun.
