Happy Valentine's Day!

Any holiday is a chance to celebrate and Valentine's Day is all about celebrating love and friendship in preschool.  Students have been hard at work cutting hearts to take home and hearts to decorate Valentine bags.  Cutting is a skill that really takes practice and each time students use scissors they are getting closer to mastering this fine motor development.

Shadows and play

One student was having fun looking at her shadow and noticing how all of her movements were mirrored by her shadow.  Then another student joined the fun and they took turns doing silly things like jumping on each other's shadows and standing on the shadow heads.  Finally they figured out which places in the play yard had shade and where they could "lose" their shadows.  It's such fun to see curiosity, exploration, and friendship at play.
