Ooey gooey flubber

This week our sensory material was a sticky, gooey concoction of 2 parts glue and 1 part liquid starch.  The students helped measure, pour, and mix the ingredients in ziplock bags then transferred the goop to trays.

They pulled it and let it ooze through their fingers.  They also used it to create a picture of Mrs. Ronda and a heart for Valentine's Day.

We learned about jellyfish last week and guessed that a jellyfish might feel cold, sticky, and gooey just like the flubber felt.  Here are the jellyfish creations the kids made by measuring, cutting, taping, and stapling.

Along with measuring, our other math activity was seriation, or ordering by size.  I invited the students to cut and paste four shapes in an order, either small to large or large to small.  Everyone was successful!

And to end the week, here are a few pics of PreK hard at work in the classroom.   Happy weekend!
