We are back!

PreK has been busy this month covering topics like machines, robots, plus the life cycles of plants and insects.   After reading about robots and machines I brought in my sewing machine and taught the class about the parts and process of sewing.  Students learned about how to thread the machine, lower and raise the presser foot, and choose from a variety of stitches.

The class continues to enjoy our block area in the classroom and they are creating more complex structures everyday.

As a way to encourage construction and engineering concepts, we read several books about towers and bridges.  Then we created our own using play dough and straws.

During other school time students have been enjoying playing with toy insects and bugs, working as partners, riding bikes and pouring water during our outside time.
