Pumpkins, Pumpkins Everywhere!

Here is a peak at our outing from last Friday to the pumpkin patch at Cal Poly.
It was an exciting hour at the patch to run through dirt, climb over vines, and discover some cool stuff.  One student pointed out the vines and flowers that we've learned about in discussion of life cycles.  Another student was thrilled to find a rotten pumpkin which we knew was a last step in the cycle.  And another student spotted a very interesting spider living among the vines.
After checking out the variety in the patch it was time to choose just the right pumpkin.
Here's the gang minus a few friends who felt shy about a photo.
With our pumpkins picked and packed up it was time to head to the park for snacks and playtime.  Thank you to all the parents and students that joined us for this special fried trip.  I hope that you met someone new, found a perfect pumpkin, and had fun!
