Butterfly Life Cycle

This week we welcomed five new hairy caterpillars to our classroom. We gave them names and have been talking about the four stages of the butterfly life cycle. We learned some great body movements for each of the stages and loved practicing them in the court yard and at circle time.
Here are some friends exploring and learning about the caterpillars habitat and life cycle. We also have been learning about symmetry- which we define as being the same size, same shape, and same color on both sides.
We have been loving our widgets!!! The toddlers have built some pretty incredible creations after figuring out how to use them and stack with them.
Outside we have been involved in imaginary play with our friends. One day we were pirates searching for treasure, the next day we were painting caves that the dinosaurs lived in.
