Theoretically, GHCC is a developmental, play-based educational program.  Play is a powerful teaching tool and requires teachers and parents to be aware, prepared and intentional.  We prepare our environment to foster inquiry, respond to interests and support curiosity.  Knowing the subject matter that we want to teach (the academics), we emphasize it through our method (play opportunities) to maximize the outcome (learning).

This curriculum emphasis provides a variety of learning experiences in the areas of:


*social and emotional
*cognitive and
*physical development

These experiences enable children to build self-esteem, to learn acceptable methods of cooperation and negotiation, and to become competent members of a group.
