Dottie Ryan is the Director and three-year old teacher at Grandmother's House. She received her training in Child Development at Cuesta College, and has over 23 years of experience in the field. One of her 'gifts' is the ability to encourage and support her staff as they create an environment that honors the curiosity and joy inherent in each of their students.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading, gardening and outdoor activities, and especially loves showering her granddaughters with love.

Lindsay Baxter is the PreKindergarten Teacher at Grandmother's House. She earned her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Hawaii. She holds an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education from Cuesta College. Lindsay has been a nanny, teaching assistant, and now the lead teacher for age four to five year olds for over 5 years at Grandmother's House. Her favorite part of preschool is reading books with her class.

When she is not at school mixing play dough or chasing her students around the yard, Lindsay and her husband enjoy camping, hiking, and the beach.

Kristi Drenckpohl is our newest face around Grandmother's House, working as an assistant teacher on Fridays. She is originally from southern California but moved to SLO in 2013. Kristi has her BA in Elementary Education with a minor in Art from Whitworth University. In addition, she has her Elementary Teaching Credential and her certificate in Early Childhood Education.

Kristi is married and has three awesome kids. When not busy driving her active kids around to all their many activities, she loves to read, watch movies and hike and explore the central coast.

Jolie Burrows shares the wonderful job of toddler teacher with Kristi Drenckpohl. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in natural resources from the University of Michigan and a Master of Education in early and elementary education from Antioch University in Keene, NH. She holds a California Teaching Credential and an Early Childhood Education director’s level permit. Originally from Vermont, she has been teaching preschool and kindergarten for many years, most recently with the Parent Participation Program in San Luis Obispo.

She lives in Los Osos with her husband, son and daughter (plus a few furry and feathered friends) where they love to spend lots of time outdoors.
